Established in 1987 Traxler’s Hunting Preserve has become a large part of the community. Submerge yourself in the peaceful surroundings and fun atmosphere with the best staff and most unforgettable experiences. Whether it is your first time, or you’ve been here a multiple times, you will not be disappointed. The food is always amazing, the hunt is a little different each time, and your day in the GOOD OL’ OUTDOORS of Southern Minnesota will not be beat.

- Our preserve is for members & their guests only. Members get exclusive access to our hunts, events.
- Located just an hour south of Minneapolis, Traxler’s is conveniently located for a quick afternoon or weekend hunt.
- Traxler’s is hunting – we cater to any sportsman or women looking to hunt pheasant – chukar. Check events throughout the year.
- After your hunt or stop in before your hunt for lunch, we are open from 10am – 1:30pm.
Frequently Asked Questions
As a member, can I bring anyone out?
Yes, as a member you may bring your guest as many times as long as the card holder is present.
Can a non-member come out to hunt?
Yes, we do offer a one-time trial hunt for a non-member. We book these hunts 24-48 hours in advance prior to the hunt to ensure that we have room for our current members.
Is there a minimum amount of birds that need to be put out?
Yes, we have a 3-bird minimum per shooter (unless the hunter is under the age of 18 and then there is no minimum for birds).
Do you have dog rentals?
Yes, we have club dogs available to rent by request, upon availability. We can also provide a guide and dog upon request and availability.
Do you have to be a member to come for lunch?
No, we have an amazing kitchen that offers lunch from 10am to 1:30pm every day (except Tuesdays). We do ask you to make a reservation to ensure we have the room to accommodate your group. We are not open for dinner.
How big are your fields?
Our field size ranges from 10 to 40 acres.
Do you have gun rental?
Yes, we do have a range of 12-gauge and 20-gauge guns that are available for rental, please call ahead to ensure we have available guns.
Do you need a MN small game license & pheasant stamp?
No, we are a licensed preserve through the State of Minnesota. You do not need any special license to hunt here.
Do you have to have a dog to hunt pheasants?
We require you to have a dog for a successful hunt.
Do you have ammunition available?
We sell 12-gauge and 20-gauge hunting load. As well as a light load for clay pigeons and sporting clays.
When do you put out your hunts?
Our morning hunts are put at 8:00am, 8:30am,9:00am & 9:30am your group has the field until 12:00pm. Our afternoon hunt are put out at 12:00pm, 12:30pm, 1:00 & 1:30pm and you have the field until 4pm. All birds need to be in the cleaning room by 4:00pm if you choose to have them processed ($4/bird)
